This is world famous National Park and it’s the oldest Indian National Park.It is Bengal Tiger reserve. Well, it lives up to its reputation for sure!

We loved the jungle it’s quite dense and looks intriguing, especially Dhikala zone. If you are a wildlife lover then this National Park is for you...

It has beautiful landscape, dense tree cover and many species of flora n fauna. Overall more than what a wildlife lover and / or photographer can ask for!

Location:

Corbett National Park is in Ramnagar, District Nainital, Uttarakhand. It is located in sub-Himalayan belt and the particular geography is quite visible while inside the park i.e. small hills, forest and numerous streams. Ramganga River flows through and there many smaller streams across the Park.....

Zones in Corbett National Park:

National parks are usually divided in zones and one safari ride can cover only one zone. Corbett National Park has three zones:

Jhirna Zone: This is a smallest of ranges and the safari trail is not very long. It passes through some small Himalayan streams.

Bijrani Zone: This is bigger zone and the safari ride takes longer. There are some small hills in this zone and the safari trail goes around these hills.

Dhikala Zone: This is core area for the National Park and this is available only for people who plan to stay overnight in one of the Forest Guest Houses in the Park (Dhikala Forest Guest House, Gairal, Sultan etc.). Dhikala zone is heart of the National Park and one must not miss the opportunity visiting this zone.

What to expect in Park:

Well nature at its best!
We stayed at one of the many Resorts available in Ramnagar and had safari to Jhirna & Bijrani zones. We booked one of the Govt. forest guest houses in Dhikala zone and had safari in Dhikala zone.

The park has:
  • Beautiful landscape.
  • Ramganga River & Many other small streams across the National park, makes it even more interesting.
  • Dense enough forest, gives feel of real forest (especially Dhikala zone).
  • Variety of birds & animals to spot.
  • Over all a must visit place for wildlife lovers & Photographers.

** Please do not get obsessed for Tiger Sighting only, give nature a chance:
As most of us already know, do not go to a National Park only for spotting a single animal i.e. in this case Tiger. Just enjoy the Nature, Landscape, other Animals, Birds, Pure air they are equally beautiful and if you are lucky enough you may spot a tiger or two.
